The Lower East Side Partnership (LESP) is exploring expanding the boundaries of our BID to include more businesses and blocks in the neighborhood.
Since 1993, we have served community stakeholders including residents, merchants, and property owners. Our services are focused on supplemental sanitation, marketing, and public space management and neighborhood events.

What does BID expansion usually mean for a neighborhood?
A BID Expansion is when an existing Business Improvement District (BID) expands its boundaries to include more neighboring properties and businesses.
More neighbors are “in the BID.”
Property owners inside the expanded boundary would become part of the district and contribute through the BID assessment, such as current BID members.
The BID expands services to meet community needs in new areas.
LESP is expanding its existing work, not changing its purpose.
